Catholic homeschool religion text
|
Question:
I'm looking for some recommendations on a good text/resource/book
or whatever to include Catholicism into our homeschooling program,
starting at about the preschool or kindergarten level. Texts or
resources to avoid because of difficulty, not being really interesting,
or other problems would be great, too.
Answer: - You might try the following organization.
The following information has been obtained from Growing Without
Schooling magazine 2000 Directory, 2380 Massachusetts Avenue, Suite 104,
Cambridge, MA 02140. 617-864-3100. http://www.holtgws.com.
(My favorite magazine and they have a great homeschool catalog also.)
-Found it at Barnes & Noble.com Under 'advanced search' you can
look for books by ISBN. http://www.bn.com/
Also at ChristianBook.com (CBD). http://www.christianbook.com/ If my
brain isn't too tired, I think it was cheaper at CBD. Take a look.
-_Designing_Your_Own_Classical_Curriculum_
by Laura Berquist, if you're into Classical/
Trivium. In any case, it give good reading and
curricula lists especially for the early years.
I just found (wife did, actually) _The_Catholic_
_Sourcebook_, 3rd Ed., by Rev. Peter Klein,
well-subtitled "A Comprehensive Collection of
Information about the Catholic Church". Makes
for great short reads. Not for so young as
yours, but good for you.
ISBN 0-15-950653-0 , btw.
